Those iconic armchairs were originally created by Japanese designer Shiro Kuramata in 1982 for the offices and showroom of fellow fashion designer Issey Miyake. They present a tubular metal structure with padded and upholstered seat and back.
Around 2010, as an homage to the Japanese master, Cappellini decided to produce a limited edition of those armchairs with an anthracite metal structure and velvet upholsteries that recall the favorite colors of the fashion designer: green, magenta, alchemilla and this vibrant electric blue.
The armchairs combine a contemporary style, with their dynamic lines and the chosen materials, and a sense of the Japanese simple and elegant aesthetics.
