Zanine returned to furniture design after he witnessed wood from the Atlantic Forest being disposed of as scrap in loggings in Nova Viçosa. Inspired by local expertise, he started creating sculptural, functional pieces that preserved the characteristics of the natural material, which became know as Protest Furniture. His intention was to value the wood and at the same time bring awareness to the deforestation process.
