The years following 1969, and the first steps on the moon, showed a renewed and vivid interest for space exploration. Yonel Lebovici was inspired by the technical prowess and machines that allowed men to go into space. Designed in the mid-1970’s, the illustrated above work is part of a series called “Soucoupes volantes”. The two meters tall floor lamp is composed of a base made up of three triangular aluminum blades on which rests a pivoting saucer presenting four luminous steel spheres.
